This is one of the most important places of worship here in Gran Canaria.
This beautiful building, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, rises proudly above the rooftops of Arucas. Locals often call it the “Cathedral of Arucas” because of its striking resemblance to the great Gothic cathedrals… though the name is only symbolic, as it doesn’t actually hold the bishop’s throne.

We’re going to take you on a circular route. From the sacristy where you are now, we’ll walk past the main altar, continue to the right, and eventually return here to finish the visit.
Midway through, when we reach the main façade, you’ll see a spiral staircase—this leads to the triforium, the upper gallery. Once you’ve explored it, take the other spiral staircase back down to continue your tour.
